Submit your warranty, or prepare to go crazy. This refrigerator makes more noise than our washer and dryer doing a load of marbles. I wish I could go back in time and buy another fridge that isn™€™t constantly knocking, buzzing, humming and running™€¦all starting about 4 months into ownership. Three years in, it sounds like a Stephen King movie every time I open the side with the hinged-seal thingy. HD no longer offers this refrigerator and I certainly have no doubt as to why. It also randomly decides to freeze my vegetables every few months. I™€™m considering having GE pay for my therapy bills™€¦

Ice maker has a mind of it's own, it makes ice on it's term! There is water leaking somewhere, we are receiving sheets of Ice on the bottom of freezer. The drawer rails on the freezer are constantly freezing up making difficult to open! We are looking to have this refunded as we feel we got a lemon. Thanks

A lot of wasted space. Shelves could be a good 3-4 inches deeper without interfering with door bins. Crisper does not keep things crisp. There is a 1.5 inch gap on each side of crisper/fruit & veggie bins' seals that essentially render the seals worthless. Not much really adjustable in shelves... spacing is odd so different configurations are difficult. The retracting shelf is very cheap and flimsy and can't be moved to the opposite side. The dividers in the deli keeper and freezer are absolutely worthless. I have no idea why they are even there. All in all I would say this refrigerator is very cheaply made for the price. It looks good on the exterior is about the only positive I have to say. The refrigerator temp seems OK but the freezer is off. It's questionable if I would buy it again. I needed white and unfortunately there aren't many choices.

We really like our refrigerator/freezer. One draw back is that the water dispenser is inside of the refrigerator frame. :( Our last refrigerator had it on the outside, so maybe I'm spoiled. It is better on the outside because when I get up in the night, which is quite frequent to get a drink of water, the brightness of the refrigerator is REALLY bright. But we love the space, even though it is a small refrigerator. We can find things by just opening the door and there it is. The freezer is nice because it has dividers to keep it organized, which is very nice. It also has an ice maker which is nice. It keeps it full automatically. It's great on energy, keeping our energy bill to an affordable price. The cooling system works great, when an ice cube got caught in the bottom of the freezer, it let us know by forming a weird frost on the ice cubes. I happen to notice it within the day. The shelving space is so much more than our old one. Everything is right there when you open the door. I like having all foods where I can open the door and view everything at once, instead of moving things around to discover that I had forgotten something and it became outdated and was no good to use anymore. Since there are only two people in this household, we don't need anything huge. We like our size of refrigerator/freezer that we have purchased from GE Appliances.

Overall, very pleased. Unit is very quiet, space good for 2 people™€™s needs. French doors are great, bottom freezer & ice maker easy to access. Only criticism is quality of drawer tracks. Very flimsy and tend to catch if not pushed in perfectly straight! Sprayed dry silicone on tracks , and the drawers slide in and out a lot smoother!!

The model I purchased in July of 2025 was the GE 18.6 Cu Ft, 33W Counter Depth French Door, Bottom Freezer with factory installed Ice Maker. I had spent a great deal of time researching refrigerators for the simple reason I wanted to make sure I was purchasing a refrigerator from a company based in the USA with a long history of producing refrigerator products. That being said, I also had a limited amount of space in my kitchen, so that narrowed down my options. I then began the process of diving into the customer reviews to see what you, the consumers had to say about your refrigerator purchases. The final decision was the large factory installed ice maker within the freezer, ample shelving on both refrigerator doors, the freezer drawers were solid plastic, not baskets, and the refrigerator came in optional colors. I choose the white, because my other appliances are white, and the white doors have a shine to them with the classy handles. This is a large purchase and I wanted to make sure this refrigerator lasts a long time. With all my research, I am very pleased with my refrigerator. My GE Gas Stove is 25 years old and is still running like a top. And, I thank GE for being around for a long time, you were well worth the comparison and search!

A General Electric white counter-depth refrigerator was my requirement. It is a beautiful addition to my kitchen. Although I sacrificed some space with the counter depth, the trade-off is acceptable. The capacity works well for me. The configuration provides more shelves than I use. The cooling system works great, and it is much quieter than my previous appliance.

The refrigerator width drawer allow the owner to control the how cold the drawer temp is and it has a good capacity. The fruit and vegetable drawers are small and don't hold enough for people who purchase a lot of fresh produce. The door shelves are very deep with adds a lot of space. It's great to have a digital readout of the frig and freezer settings. Having two sets of LED lights, at the top and nears the lower drawers is awesome.

Capacity very good for a counter depth unit. French doors are great in our limited space, bottom freezer w/ice maker perfect. Unit is VERY quiet! Seems to keep set temps very accurately. Drawer shelves tracks are a bit sloppy, tend to bind on closing if not pushed in from exact center. Very strange they charge a premium for a basic white painted unit!!!

It is smaller than my old refrigerator but that is on me for not focusing more on the cf. It is rather noisy and the water coming from the dispenser is not cold. I think the design would™€™ve been better if the shelves were a little deeper and the storage compartments on the door or a little more shallow. It™€™s only been 2 weeks since the fridge arrived, but it™€™s working perfectly and is well designed. It™€™s quiet, well organized, and nicely lit inside and has a flexible variety of bins and shelves. Compared to older fridges, storage has been to reallocated from the shelves to the doors, which improves accessibility but does make the veggie and fruit bins a little smaller. Yogurt froze on the top shelf near the cold air outlet, so we moved it and upped the setting to 39 degrees. The big question is reliability and longevity, and of course it™€™s too soon for that. Do love the bright LED mood lighting when you open it.

Cools well, like the french door feature. Cabinet depth is better for my compact kitchen. Enjoy the filtered water and ice maker features which I never had before. The compressor is loud & food items keep freezing in the refridgerator. It has a very low capacity compared to our previous refridgerator.

Disturbs the quiet peace in our home

This fridge is extremely loud and disturbs the quiet peace in our home even 20 feet away in the next room. I should have listened to the other reviewers about this fridge. How could anyone live like this? Shame on GE for allowing this to go to market.

Smaller unit with big performance

I have a smaller home, & I'm single, so the capacity, configuration & shelving offer a great deal of space, while the counter, 18.6 Unit fits perfectly! It allows me to not buy too much due to a bit smaller interior space, but that's not a bad thing at all, actually, it's better in that I don't but too much, let it sit &/or am unable to use it before expiration dates & goes bad. Simply, it helps me to minimize as I maximize. It's cooling & energy are awesome, it's quiet, factory installed ice machine works great, it came in white, a must for me, & the internal cold water option is nice. It is a bit tight in its design to get the glass/cup up in there so water doesn't spill out & the water button needs to be pressed pretty hard to get continuous water. Again, not 'bad' things, just observations. For a smaller refrigerator to have both of these options, auto ice & internally cold water at a press is pretty awesome. The 'fit' of this refrigerator being counter-depth really sets it off, as it doesn't overpower the room & keeps the feng shui of the kitchen. I would & do recommend this style, make, model & size to anyone looking for a sleek, custom-looking fit to any home. The only complaint, if I had one, is that b/c it's White, I guess, this smaller unit is the same price as the full size & too, that White is more expensive by $500 more than Stainless Steel which kind of baffled me. But again, it is what it is & that difference obviously didn't stop me from making a great purchase.

Supposed to be a ™€œsmart™€ refrigerator? It isn™€™t. Supposed to connect to ™€œWiFi?™€ It doesn™€™t. This refrigerator is OK, but seems cheaply made and the French doors do not close smoothly.

I actually love this refrigerator. Especially considering how much I absolutely hated my previous side by side one. I love having the refrigerator part accessible without bending over. I love the configuration of shelves and the drawers. I was a bit nervous about the bottom freezer but it is so much more accessible than the narrow side by side one! It keeps everything at the perfect temperature. I also love that it was available in white which is what my other appliances are.

Compressor died after 3 years

I have owned this frig for three years. The compressor just died to the tune of $1000 and it will take a week to get a new one. It is not under warranty. In general it works well but the freezer is very small.

Nice and quiet. Seems a lot like those coffins at the funeral place. A lot of size that is just bulky and pretty useless. Takes up a lot of space and doesn't hold as much as my old refrigerator.

Over all I am very happy with my new fridge! I did have to make a choice to go to this size which is a little smaller than my old fridge or go larger, which would have stuck out 3 or 4 more inches. I chose a little smaller: the refrigerator area and door shelves are huge! I would have liked the freezer to be a bit larger, With the price of food these days it probably won't be a problem, LOL

I've had this fridge for about a month. It freezes vegetables, fruits, mayo, etc. The range of fridge temperatures is from 37 to 44° in F, which is annoying because it should be in C in Canada, but it doesn't seem to make a difference in freezing the vegetables. It is also very loud when it cycles on. The water feature is poorly placed inside the fridge, rather than on the door, and takes up a lot of space. Had to call for repair already.
