Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

MAYTAG WARRANTY A RIP OFF

LEMON - WASHING MACHINE 8/25/2026

The clean washer cycle stopped working one month after our 5 year warranty. (which in reality was only 4 years since the washer should of been extended 5 years after the one year the warranty the machine comes with.) This washer MODEL MVW7230HC cost us over $1,300 and this repair would cost about $300 including labor. The repairman, also, found a small oil leak which will eventually ruin the transmission which could be up to an additional $300. That would put the cost of this washer close to $2,000. Needless to say we will not by buying Maytag again..

Falling apart after a year and a half.

lavalamptuesday 6/3/2026

I've had this machine for a year and a half and the hinge on the top loading washer is falling apart. Plastic is falling off into my laundry. There is clearly an issue with the manufacturing and the suggestion of Maytag was to pay $363.80 for them to come and repair it when it is falling apart due to their poor manufacturing quality.

I am disappointed in this machine as I don't feel as if it is getting clothes clean. I never overload as there are only 2 of us and I do laundry daily so never have large loads. Not sure machine is getting enough water, have done all the suggestions the manual instructed on this issue, but still not doing a good job.

kdm80 12/28/2025

I am very satisfied with the Maytag top load washer. I hope it lasts as long as my old one from the 80's. Only thing I will say is that its louder than the previous washer I had - not a Maytag.

Jesse88201 12/22/2025

I frequently get error codes. I have to reset the machine, restart it, and then reload it to get it to work following an error code. We™™re outside of our Home Depot extended warranty. Local stores won™™t honor Maytags warranty department because they don™™t pay them promptly or at all. All around bad experience. Won™™t buy again

Junk

Joan026 11/3/2025

I owned this washer for 2.5 years and it™™s just two people in household. It stopped working with a code alert and I had an appliance guy come fix it 6 times, put in a new motherboard and it still didn™™t work. Called Maytag and got ZERO help because I didn™™t have an extended warranty. Well I™™m sorry but it comes with a 10year warranty and it should not break down after 2.5years. I got rid of both washer and dryer and bought LG. I will NEVER BUY from Maytag again. Both customer service and products are JUNK.

Disappointed - was told to stay away from LG, Samsung as well as GE. Well I am not sure after buying this product. Had an LG but left it when I sold the house what a mistake. This Machine quick cycle wash is 42 minutes and nothing less.. Why not??? The soap and softener disoenser is very flimsy. The bleach compartment faces outward so I have lost 2 rugs due to that. Now I am having issue with it not wringing a blanket after washing ..I can go on and on but so frustrated and totally disappointed with the washer and the dryer. Sigh!

not happy with substitution

my bad maytag 10/27/2025

this is not the model I selected but due to a damaged shipment and a backlog on the model IDID ORDER the store offered this model as an equivalent that was immediately available ~ now I know why. The first immediate issue was a small gap in the seal around the top cover which allows steam from a hot-water wash to escape and condense on the control board. A service technician reviewed it and said "its a design issue and nothing that can't be done to stop it from happening. Powdered Detergent IS NOT well received by this machine, and a small ring is always left on drum when used. Unfriendly control panel, back pressure bangs on supply water lines is noisy, the machine washing is noisy and the quality of the wash is not what we have been used to over decades of using Magtag products. Not the best buy for our money but clothes need to be washed.

Very Good Washer

Rob841 10/4/2025

We™™ve had this washer for a month and really like it. It gets more of the water out which saves money on less time using the drier. The connectivity through the App works well letting us know when the laundry is done.

Looks fantastic. Doesn't last

Stressed Ashley 10/4/2025

I have bought 2 washers from maytag since 2020. The first one lasted 2 years and the motherboard went out. I was told the price to fix and decided to just buy a new washer so I didn't have to wait 3 months for the parts to come in. My new washer that I have apparently had for 1 year, had now broken down twice and living in the small town that I do, it's a nightmare to try to find someone to fix it. We have been doing our laundry at the laundromat for 3 weeks now. I have never been more disappointed in a purchase in my life. This washer and dryer set was a huge purchase for me and my family of 4 and it's not even usable at this point, a year after purchase

Great features!

Debbie Dooski 9/30/2025

We purchased this washer about a month ago. Took a bit getting used to all the features due to ommition of user friendly instructions, but once I figured the machine out, I love all the capabilities and options.

Disappointed to say the Least!

Cookie1951 9/29/2025

I am giving this machine 2 stars because it is complicated to use and I asked for a manual and they don't provide manuals any longer, they said use my phone. Well the type of phone I have is minimal, I am old, and I have NO way to figure out how to operate this machine. VERY disappointed after spending $2000+ on a washer/dryer I cannot even get a manual for either products? My previous W/D were 20+ years old and stopped operating. Thought it would be wise to get both at the same time. Well they are both too complicated to operate.

Washer

Who thought of this 9/29/2025

They worked with me fixing the mix up of washers. But can™™t say so much about the insurance they sale to me for washer. I got the wrong washer and Lowe™™s themself made it right but it has been 4 weeks ago and I am still fighting the insurance that I bought for said washer to get them to transfer from the wrong washer to the right one. They keep telling me the call me back and they haven™™t. Have emailed infro they ask for twice still no answer

Quiet cleaning

Menard42609 9/28/2025

We have been able to use this washer for a couple of weeks now and love it. It is quieter than our last washer (GE) with a flat bottom agitator which doesn't clean as well as this Maytag washer. We haven't used all of the features yet (still learning them). Would recommend.
