I bought this LG knock on the door model LFXS30796S in Nov 2019 it has been great. I had an issue where it wasnt cooling properly and I was going to repair or replace until I remembered that I purchased an extended warranty. The LG tech from the factory came out the very next day and replaced a few components one month before my extended warranty was up. I will always buy LG as they really take good care of their customers and I have owned other major name brands and they DID NOT. Thanks LG

We saw this refrigerator at a friends home and were amazed at the many features. Best of all was the glass covered compartment that you could open with out opening the rest of the refrigerator. So keep juices water coffee creamers gatorade things like that that we want each access to without opening the refrigerator door. So much storage space in the refiferator and the freezer which as three different easily accessible shelves.

It was tedious and very involved to reach a real person to talk with. Once I could explain what was wrong and an appointment was scheduled everything went smoothly. The compressor was replaced and the fridge and freezer was cold again within 24 hours.

Bought new from and delivered and installed by Lowes. Initially all was fine. However after about a week a panel in the upper rear of the fridge section became detached from the top and dropped down exposing part of the mechanism. When this happened it caused the refrigerated section to freeze everything in it. I propped the panel back in its proper place and everything worked fine after that. Contacted LG for a warranty repair. They scheduled a repair visit promptly and the defective panel was replaced without delay. Only remaining minor issue is a portion of the top door seal in the freezer section seems to leak air causing a small frost build up on the inside of the freezer ceiling. The repair man tried to correct this when here but it did not work. Probably will need a new seal installed.

I bought the LG refrigerator based on reviews and a showroom display. The unit is especially well designed for senior citizens. The most commonly used items are above the frozen food and the upper door is split to allow good access. The filter maintenance is not complicated and the interior shelving accommodates seasonal and social events. The compressor did fail sooner than expected but a warranty covered parts and a local service person completed the repair in a little more than 2 hours.

I bought this refrigerator 4years ago. It has been a welcome addition to our kitchen. Easy to clean easy to adjust and program. The capacity is amazing. We have never run out of ice that had been an issue with a prior unit. The freezer does not frost up I would buy another in a heartbeat.

The worker came and and diagnosed then return 4 days later with the partes to repair it the compressor was replaced the unit was tested and the system was up and running. He also helped me to move the unit back inside and it back to normal.

We bought this fridge 4 years ago and it stopped working. 3 weeks later 2 known parts to fail were replaced. It was terrible trying living without a fridge for 3 weeks. I dont understand how LG thinks a family functions without a fridge and freezer for 3 weeks. I would think they would try harder to gets parts to the service people faster.

All of my past refrigerators have lasted around 20 years. Most of them still cooled but had broken parts. This new refrigerator has a compressor with fewer moving parts and should last even longer. The compressor had to be replaced after less than 5 years. The ice melted and dripped on solid hardwood floors. In addition there was $300 worth of food that had to be replaced. I wont buy an LG product again.

Weve had our LG fridge just over 4 years. We originally purchased it because of its features - everything from layout to the big tappable window that turns on a light to options. This has been everything expected: we like the shelf reconfiguration options large storage areas on the doors and especially how the ice maker doesnt infringe much on usable space. Our toddler went through a stage loving tapping the window light on/off. It even has a nice small storage on the bottom of the outer door that our little one can get a step open the light door and reach a tiny snack.
Just before the 4-yr mark we had an issue where it suddenly stopped cooling and a bunch of food went bad. We reached out to our reseller Costco who got an LG tech scheduled. It ended up being the compressor. They came out swapped in a new one and its been running beautifully for a couple weeks now.
Keeping our rating at 5 stars because this was the only major issue things happen and LGs response was on point. So long as it holds up I highly recommend.

Have had this refrigerator for a few years and really liked the size and set up. However last April as many LG refrigerators the compressor went out. Had it repaired and about a 3 weeks ago the compressor failed again. I have had many LG refrigerators over the years and NEVER had this many issues. LG needs to really take a look at this issue. Additionally by reading a lot of the other reviews looks like they are going to be losing a large customer base .

This refrigerator is great. There is so much storage space both up top and in the freezer drawer. Lots of compartments for fruit vegetables and meats. Having the separate door for milk other drinks and condiments is really convenient. Tap the door window to see what you have or need. Go ahead and stock up on meats ice cream and snacks the drawers in the freezer make it easy to keep everything organized. The ice maker and water dispenser arent used because of how our plumbing is configured. I think this refrigerator will be in use for many years. It is nice to have LG appliances in our kitchen and laundry.

I bought this refrigerator 4 years ago and paid close to $3000. I have been pleased until the compressor went out 3 weeks ago. It took two weeks to get it fixed because there was a debate of which warrant covered it at firstthe extended warranty I purchased or the original one that came with it. The original warranty covered it. It was fixed two weeks later. It was a huge inconvenience having twin 17 month olds in the house. My husband asked if this was normal and the repairman said that LG was known for this. Looked it up on the internet and found that ther has been a class action suit against LG regarding this. I lost everything in my fridge and freezer. Meat and all. Pretty disappointed on an expensive appliance.

About 3 weeks ago we found our refrigerator and freezer were not cold even though the display said it was 35 and 0 degrees. We lost all the food in the refrigerator and freezer. We had purchased the extended warranty and the repair man finally came after 2 weeks. In the mean time our family of 6 lived out of a cooler and purchased ice. When we purchased the refrigerator we thought and were told LG was a good product. Now I am not so sure. This is the first time I ever had a compressor go out and I lost all the food in a refrigerator and freezer. We had 3 large garbage cans full of spoiled food.

I was then given less than half of what I paid for the pile of junk. I am using an old fridge that is 30 yrs old until I find a new unit that is NOT LG

After the first year we started having Ice Make issues where the Ice maker just could not keep up with the ice demand. Ended up having to keep a bowl of ice in the freezer. Thought that would fix the issue but with contant opening and closing of the freezer drawer Ice built up on the fan which then needed to be defrosted. This happened on two occasions over a 2year year period. Finally after 3 years the compressor when out. The compressor has a 5 year warrenty so I called LG for a repair. LG Indicated that the soonest they could have someone out was in 3 weeks and I was willing to live out of coolers this long. I had the unit fixed the next day however LG refuses to re-imburse repair and part costs indicating that I had it serviced I had it serviced by a local technician. Even moreso there is currently a class action suit open against these compressors indicating that they reach end of life too early. I will continue my ploy to have money refunded but will NEVER buy another LG product again.

Fridge looks nice has useful consumer features. Shelves are adjustable ice cube creation works well handy water dispenser. However after only 4.5 years the compressor died. Fortunately it was under extended warranty because the technician who came to fix it had to bring in an acetylene torch and an 80-lb tank to weld the new compressor in place. Cost would have been extremely high if I hadnt purchased that extended warranty. Sadly both of my LG kitchen appliances have had major issues in the first 5 years of ownership I cannot recommend this brand to anyone as the quality and reliability are simply not there.

Love the French Door freezer on the bottom model owned for 4 years. There has been lots of space in the doors in the refrigerator compartment and in the freezer compartment and love the quick access door. The ice maker has worked like a champ providing enough ice for the two of us. However it probably wouldnt meet the demands of a family. I dont like the water dispenser. Unless done carefully water will pour down the front of the refrigerator. Also the compressor went out at the 4 year mark and we were without the refrigerator for 4 days. However the compressor was under full warranty and the technician was ready with an improved compressor to install at no cost to us. We have never been able to connect the unit to our WiFi so we could have known about the compressor failing before the fridge was too warm. So we invested in fridge thermometers to check the temperatures daily. Even with the issues described I would buy another LG refrigerator.

We love our refrigerator. Its the bomb however LG knows that there is a known problem with the compressors that go bad. Ours have not only the compressor but the evaporator the condenser and dryer. It took us over 14 visits for the LG guy to finally fix it we in the meantime lost several hundreds of dollars in food with all our meats and seafood that went to waste and LG as not owning up to helping us with their known problem.

I had the 3 door version of the refrigerator for that I had purchased almost 5 years ago. Unfortunately it developed a coolant leak behind the refrigerator compartment that wasnt repairable. Thank goodness I had an extended warranty so Best Buy credited my purchase price back to replace it. Unfortunately the 3 door model was unavailable as were any of the larger capacity units in stainless. I chose this refrigerator but had to get it in black stainless.
Thank goodness my countertops are black as well as the top of my stove and the windows on my stove and microwave. That coupled with it not being right next to the other appliances helps to make it look not so out of place. It is beautiful though.
The cord doesnt come off the back of the unit. It comes off the top right behind the left refrigerator door. Though it is the same capacity as my old unit this one is about 2 inches deeper and 1.5 inches taller. It fits under my cabinet but doesnt leave enough room to run the cord over the top. Thankfully I was able to hook it over the back corner of the refrigerator. Im short but you can see the cord over the top when you stand back. It is suoer quiet when it runs too.
The water pressure on this unit is much stronger than on any if my previous models. This is nice because your glass will fill up faster. The control panel offers the ability to preset the amount of water you want dispensed: 4 816 or 32 ounces. The opening for the dispenser is nice and wide so it is easy to fit your cup or a pitcher. You can lock the dispenser and the on/off for the open door alarm and Wi-Fi connection are on the panel as well. There is not a removable drip tray but Im ok with that. The removable tray would get stuck with the buildup of calcium from the water. You can just wipe this clean.
You have the option of crushed or cubed ice. It makes up to 3.8 lbs of ice oer day. You can choose the Ice Plus option which drops the freezer temperature so the ice being made freezes faster. This is helpful when you have a lot of people that use ice and they use it all.
The Craft Ice is a neat feature. It makes golf ball sized round ice which melts slower in your drinks. Unfortunately it only makes 3 balls a day. There is the option to up that to 6 balls a day.
The other thing to remember is that the bin for the Craft Ice takes up space in your freezer. You can remove it if you need the space.
There are only 2 drawers for storage in the freezer the main drawers and a smaller upper drawer where the Craft Ice is dispensed. My old unit had 3 drawers but things always seemed to get stuck in the middle drawer so we wont miss that. Ther is a movable divider in the main drawer so you can divide the drawer for organizing your frozen foods.
The meat drawer that used to be inside the refrigerator is now a separate door. You can also choose the temperature you want it at using a control panel inside the refrigerator. There are several different refrigerator temperature options for different foods or drinks. But a big plus is that you can drop the temperature to make it a freezer drawer. There are also movable dividers to help you organize your food.
The refrigerator is layed out different from my older model. They have gotten rid of the 3 produce drawers and made it be 2 drawers. The 3 drawers resulted in the smallest one being too small for most produce and the other 2 were on the small side as well. The 2 drawers in this unit are nice and roomy. I think they are taller too.
There are three levels of shelves. They are adjustable but the positions you can move them to make the middle shelf basically unusable except for something flat. My other refrigerator had way more shelf room. This one has very little considering this is a super capacity unit. One of the shelves does have a front section that slides back for taller items but that means you lose the storage of the front if the shelf above it. I think part of the reason there is less shelf height may be that the produce drawers might be taller.
The storage in the left door is not as deep as my previous refrigerator. You can put condiment bottles in the middle shelf but the top and bottom shelf arent deep enough. I was able to put a small bottle of Real Lemon and a small tall and narrow relish jar in them.
The storage in right door is about the same as my old refrigerator. The middle shelf height is now adjustable which is a great feature. And the interior door that is on the back/inside of the shelves is now magnetic instead of a push in to release mechanism. This is much better. Before if it hit something on a shelf in the main section it would pop open. If you didnt realize it and went to shut the door you could have broken it off.
The Wi-Fi connection for the app is greatly improved. The app allows you to enable Ice Plus increase the production of Craft Ice and run diagnostics on the refrigerator. There are also several other features.
All in all this is a beautiful refrigerator. The shelving layout causes some issues but they are workable.

Their customer service was horrible and I would have to wait up to a month to get it serviced. It finally died and I had to purchase another fridge. I will never purchase another LG refrigerator.

This fridge holds a lot of food. The compressor also failed at the three-year mark and ruined not only all our food in the freezer and fridge but also ruined thousands of dollars of my life saving insulin I take 8 times a day. LG says too bad so sad. The dealer said there were thousands of failed compressors and LG knew they were faulty and have redesigned them. I believe that since they knew and did nothing to warn us with a recall notice that they should at least be responsible for my food and medicine costs. I wish someone would file a class action suit against them for actual losses only not punitive damages. As my title says good and BAD

Found a lot of people having issues with lg compressors and even a class action lawsuit which I could have signed up for but missed the cutoff date. There is no LG Service Center in Portland OR despite these units being sold in all the big box stores and there are 1.5 million people in the metropolitan area. Great space excellent adjustable shelfs I love the window in the door. The product was amazing for 4 years then the whole system internal workings went out. It just stopped cooling Ive lost all my food had a repairman come out- Thankfully its under LG warranty- but the hassle and waiting for the parts and labor to be finished is taking almost a month Not that other fridges are better but LG knows this is a problem and isnt proactive on fixing it.

The design works well. French door refrigerator / bottom freezer is the best layout. The glass door / tap light isnt necessary for me but looks nice and the separate drink compartment on the outside is very nice. I like the water / ice setup but it has confused some people this is true of everything on the market. Compressor just failed after less than 3 years which was very disappointing but both parts and labor were completely covered under LG warranty.

This refrigerator is stylishd to look at but functionally and construction is poor. The material the drawers rollers slides etc. are made of are extremely cheap and brittle materials. Without exception every drawer in the refrigerator and the freezer is broken in some fashion. Weve had issues with handles coming off the roller inside the freezer completely coming apart. The general material inside the refrigerator feels cheap and while our refrigerator does See consistent use it is not abused and is generally only handled by adults. The tap on feature to turn on the light on the inside is fun but in the end 99. 9 of the time the refrigerator is opened anyway so that feature is more of a gimmick than something actually useful. Again this is a pretty fridge to look at but it functionally is poorly laid out and construction materials and quality of materials is poor.

Ive owned this refrigerator for five years. The ice cube maker has failed and Ill have to buy a new one if I want ice cubes.
The compressor just failed. The part was still under warranty and to LGs credit they provided a courtesy one time free labor. That still didnt fully compensate for the time spent trying to salvage food and using coolers with ice as a refrigerator. Not to mention the food that was lost.
Also owned an LG TV that failed in less than two years.
I dont think that LG products will be anywhere in my future.

In the almost 3 years we have owned this refrigerator we have had 2 service calls. The last one being over 2 weeks ago when it was diagnosed with a broken compressor. Stll waiting for LG to send someone to repair it. We did not know this refrigerator and several made by LG have had major problems. LG was aware the compressors were no good in these refrigerators and chose to wait for them to break down before doing anything about it. My husband and I over 60 have been without our refrigerator for over 2 weeks. Is anyone reading this???? No. Life is Not Good....without a running refrigerator. Oh I didnt even mention all the spoiled food we has to throw out
