The digital screen started flickering within a year or so of purchase. I called about the warranty and of course its a one year warranty. The microwave works...I just cant see what time it is. Customer Service told me that for $415 they could come out and repair it. What a joke. I can almost buy a new microwave for that price.

Disappointed. The microwave works well however the display key pad buttons require more force to activate than competitors and the displays digital numbers flash/light up when they are not supposed to. LGs service replaced the key pad display under warranty with the exact same display which exhibited the same problems again within one year. LG would not honor their product any longer even though it should have been known that replacing a defective component with another defective component would not resolve the issue.

LG 7-segment displays are poor quality

Microwave works well but after about 1.5 years the control panel 7-segment display started glitching. At first just a couple segments flashing gradually got worse now its barely readable. And now my LG stove bought at the same time is starting to have the same problem. I have 20+ year old alarm clocks that still have a strong display this is not new technology its really disappointing.

Was pretty happy to find a microwave to fit our built-in space. It is attractive. The keypad went out 3 days before the warranty expired. Got that fixed with no problem. Everything has been going OK until last night when the microwave caught fire while cooking a potato. Luckily it was contained so only lost the microwave. House still smells like smoke.

Looks nice but thats where it stops. Mine too has the typical display flicker for this unit pretty sad for a unit thats just under three years old . 1000 watts? Honestly why would LG even make a 1000 watt unit when 1100 is the standard? I have to make time adjustments on EVERYTHING I put in it. I find the touchpad very odd in the way the amount of pressure required to activate varies from digit to digit. I look to replace it within the next year.

Display flickers constantly

Microwave works fine but after about 18 months the display started flickering constantly. Tried all troubleshooting suggestions. None worked. LG offers fixed price repair for ~$350 to repair $200 appliance. Obviously cheaper to buy new unit. I guess were stuck with it until were sick of looking at it.

Sad to read the other reviews about the control panel flickering because mine is doing the same thing and is not very old. We put all LG appliances in when we redid our kitchen and all the others are still doing great. The dishwasher is my all time fav. Also disappointed that I cannot turn the beep volume down or off its so loud and can be heard from across the house in our babies room.

Great microwave with one issue.

The microwave functions great. It is easy to use and heats up food fast. And it looks nice in our remodeled kitchen. The only significant issue is with the display. It flickers a lot and one of the elements in one of the numbers has stopped working after a 18 months of use. Unfortunately it would cost too much to repair.

Questionable parts Magnetron

This microwave was bought was on 10 May 2022. I was not trying to buy it now. I WAS trying to get the magnetron replaced as it had stopped working after only TWO years of use. My problem arose when there were no active LG repair facilities to take my microwave to. My only option was to have an LG tech come to my home at a cost of $345.00 just for the visit. The magnetron should have been replaced without cost under 10 year warranty. I was told by three LG places in the Merrimack Valley that it would cost me more to have a tech come out to my home than the original cost of the microwave. Therefore I should purchase a new microwave. I had several email conversations with the main office and was repeatedly given the same places in the Merrimack Valley to contact. 1 the product should not have stopped working after only two years have sales receipt. 2 the run around I received from LG was not appreciated.

The display has a glitch in the LED display. There is a black light that spins in the background and sometimes the numbers do not appear properly. It looks beautiful but I would not recommend this product for purchase. It would make a great display product for a trophy kitchen if you are looking to use it as an everyday appliance I recommend you look for a different product and brand.

We bought the microwave a little bit over a year ago. . We had a problem with the display and it got replaced when it was under warranty. The service technician that fixed it broke the vent cover and had to be replaced. When we ordered the new part it arrived the wrong color. Then later on the new display started to act up and we reported it but because it is out of warranty you will not service it again. We reported it but it went on deaf ears.

AVOID LG - ratings are misleading

I ordered this for my new house in Nov of 2020 and it was installed in Feb of 2021. It completely died in March of 2024 just over 3 years. I had a service call by Appliance Repair Specialists which cost $95. He said it needed a new panel under the control buttons and the wrong part was sent. AFter over 2 months of no microwave he finally told me to buy a new one. My LG Refrigerator ordered and installed at the same time lasted one year and one month and then the compressor went. I was finally able to get a refund since NO SERVICE people in our area would work on the type of coolant that the freezer had. We used Consumer Reports as a guide in shopping for these appliances but LG has been nothing but trouble for us.

Bad LED display

Barely outside of warranty the LED display started flickering. It has not effected the operation of the microwave but it is terribly annoying. The touchpad is terrible as it is not backlit and the numbers are not white but an off color making it impossible to see in low light. When we moved we purchased all LG appliances thinking they were top of the line. We have had issues with the side by side refrigerator as well. I am not a fan of LG products.

Garbage microwave

Owned product for 2 years. Rarely used as I didnt live in that hose but occasionally. Stopped working and now out of warranty. LG wants 125 dollars to have one of their techs diagnose the problem then untold amt to repair it. Surpassing easially the cost of buying yet another one. Also had to have oven repaired immediately after purchase that I bought at same time. Zero stars. Do not recommend.

Crap

Really bad 2/6/2024

We have had this less than two years. The display is not readable. It flashes all time. LGs solution is to unplug and plug back in. After doing this about 15 times it has not improved. Do not waste your money on this product. We will never again buy an LG product. Now we are left with buying a new LG microwave so our appliances match or going with a different brand. I regret this purchase.

Not one for longevity

I love the functions however I feel like this one is a LEMON. Within 2 days of my purchase/installation of this microwave the control panel failed. Was all fine until now another failure the magnatron ? failed Ive had this for 3 years only. My old no frills microwave stuck around for 15 years with no issues The repair alone was so much $ I could have bought a new microwave.

Not satisfied with the quality

This is less than 4 yrs old. Im the only one using it and it wont heat anymore. Im any of my previous homes Ive never had a microwave stop working. Im very disappointed. Im hoping my oven doesnt disappoint me the same way. Im not so sure I will replace this with another LG. I didnt purchase a warranty since as I said I never had a microwave case working ever

Failed microwave

The microwave stopped working 3 months ago. Barely a year after purchase. Trying to reach out to LG for some explanation and warranty support.

Not enough express cooking

Broke in a week

I bought a year ago and in the first week it stopped working I called Lowes where I purchased the microwave and they advised me that I would have to have an LG service man come out and look before they could replace. The repair man can and didnt have the correct tools to service so we had to wait another 2 weeks. He finally came repaired the microwave. 10 months later the microwave stops working I call LG and they have no records of any technicians coming to service. How ever Im the one who called LG to schedule the repair. Now we have to buy a new one. It will not be LG.

These appliances are only 2 1/2 years old and have had control panel failure issues for the past several months. I initially called for service on late Thursday Dec. 8. After an over one hour conversation I was told service would be $349 and that both OTR microwave and range were scheduled for service next day Dec. 9. Tech showed up and said yep you need new control panels. These are cheaply made and frequently fail after a couple years. Yours were ordered too late to get them for today. He was puzzled about the range as service was never scheduled for it??? I tried to call the direct number I was given for any issues they arent in on Saturday. I was told they would call me back on Monday. Monday after no call I called them and after a VERY frustrating call I requested a supervisor. Was told they would call back in 30 minutes. They did not. I called again on Tuesday and did finally get to talk with a Supervisor named Salem. He admitted he personally had handled my initial call and he had made a mistake and never ordered the service for the range. So service charge for microwave was more than the initial cost to purchase. Because of his mistake we offered to buy the part and get a free service call. Salems supervisor denied that request and he said he would call customer service and see if he could get the cost waved and call right back. He did not. I called again on Thursday Dec14 and requested to speak with Salem. He did call back and said he had been busy and unable to call me back before. He said we had to pay for needed services and we put a hold for both the microwave and range on a credit card over $700. I refused to schedule service before Monday Dec. 16 to be sure they would have the parts. We have to submit receipts for service to home warranty for reimbursement and to date Wednesday Dec 20 we only have one receipt. The tech was super but service department calls were terrible The fact that it took several hours on the phone and more than a week plus sooo many mistakes I will not buy any further LG products

Only good for a year

I bought this a year ago. After the warrantee was up the screen started to flicker and the light bulbs burned out. I was told by the warrantee department that i was out of luck.

Bought this microwave less than 4 yrs ago and it is not heating anymore. Not very impressed with this LG product. It is not overused. Ive never had a microwave in any of my former home give out. Very disappointed
