Sad to read the other reviews about the control panel flickering because mine is doing the same thing and is not very old. We put all LG appliances in when we redid our kitchen and all the others are still doing great. The dishwasher is my all time fav. Also disappointed that I cannot turn the beep volume down or off its so loud and can be heard from across the house in our babies room.

I purchased the microwave 2 years ago and used it maybe a dozen times to warm food. The control panel readout is flickering and is out of warranty according to your rep I spoke to. At the same time of purchase I also purchased a gas range wich we love. I just think your company should cover the controller.

Completely disappointed. I purchased 6 LG appliances for new construction home and installed 2023. 2 of the 6 are not working. There is no customer service available to assist. Was told to take my appliances to car service center or farm equipment repair for LG Services. I will never purchase LG products again.

I would prefer to eat cold meals for a year before paying top dollars for this rectangular box of rubbish. The display has lost over 90 of the segments. This is called ghosting. I even told LG how to fix the issue and they refused to help me because I purchased the item over 2 years ago but it has only been in service 6 months. Great microwave with one issue.

The microwave functions great. It is easy to use and heats up food fast. And it looks nice in our remodeled kitchen. The only significant issue is with the display. It flickers a lot and one of the elements in one of the numbers has stopped working after a 18 months of use. Unfortunately it would cost too much to repair.

Questionable parts Magnetron

This microwave was bought was on 10 May 2022. I was not trying to buy it now. I WAS trying to get the magnetron replaced as it had stopped working after only TWO years of use. My problem arose when there were no active LG repair facilities to take my microwave to. My only option was to have an LG tech come to my home at a cost of $345.00 just for the visit. The magnetron should have been replaced without cost under 10 year warranty. I was told by three LG places in the Merrimack Valley that it would cost me more to have a tech come out to my home than the original cost of the microwave. Therefore I should purchase a new microwave. I had several email conversations with the main office and was repeatedly given the same places in the Merrimack Valley to contact. 1 the product should not have stopped working after only two years have sales receipt. 2 the run around I received from LG was not appreciated.

The display has a glitch in the LED display. There is a black light that spins in the background and sometimes the numbers do not appear properly. It looks beautiful but I would not recommend this product for purchase. It would make a great display product for a trophy kitchen if you are looking to use it as an everyday appliance I recommend you look for a different product and brand.

We bought the microwave a little bit over a year ago. . We had a problem with the display and it got replaced when it was under warranty. The service technician that fixed it broke the vent cover and had to be replaced. When we ordered the new part it arrived the wrong color. Then later on the new display started to act up and we reported it but because it is out of warranty you will not service it again. We reported it but it went on deaf ears.

AVOID LG - ratings are misleading

I ordered this for my new house in Nov of 2020 and it was installed in Feb of 2021. It completely died in March of 2024 just over 3 years. I had a service call by Appliance Repair Specialists which cost $95. He said it needed a new panel under the control buttons and the wrong part was sent. AFter over 2 months of no microwave he finally told me to buy a new one. My LG Refrigerator ordered and installed at the same time lasted one year and one month and then the compressor went. I was finally able to get a refund since NO SERVICE people in our area would work on the type of coolant that the freezer had. We used Consumer Reports as a guide in shopping for these appliances but LG has been nothing but trouble for us.

Bad LED display

Barely outside of warranty the LED display started flickering. It has not effected the operation of the microwave but it is terribly annoying. The touchpad is terrible as it is not backlit and the numbers are not white but an off color making it impossible to see in low light. When we moved we purchased all LG appliances thinking they were top of the line. We have had issues with the side by side refrigerator as well. I am not a fan of LG products.

We have had this less than two years. The display is not readable. It flashes all time. LGs solution is to unplug and plug back in. After doing this about 15 times it has not improved. I love the functions however I feel like this one is a LEMON. Within 2 days of my purchase/installation of this microwave the control panel failed. Was all fine until now another failure the magnatron ? failed Ive had this for 3 years only. My old no frills microwave stuck around for 15 years with no issues The repair alone was so much $ I could have bought a new microwave.

I bought a year ago and in the first week it stopped working I called Lowes where I purchased the microwave and they advised me that I would have to have an LG service man come out and look before they could replace. The repair man can and didnt have the correct tools to service so we had to wait another 2 weeks. He finally came repaired the microwave. 10 months later the microwave stops working I call LG and they have no records of any technicians coming to service. LG service nightmare 12/20/2023

These appliances are only 2 1/2 years old and have had control panel failure issues for the past several months. I initially called for service on late Thursday Dec. 8. After an over one hour conversation I was told service would be $349 and that both OTR microwave and range were scheduled for service next day Dec. 9. Tech showed up and said yep you need new control panels. These are cheaply made and frequently fail after a couple years. Yours were ordered too late to get them for today. He was puzzled about the range as service was never scheduled for it??? I tried to call the direct number I was given for any issues they arent in on Saturday. I was told they would call me back on Monday. Monday after no call I called them and after a VERY frustrating call I requested a supervisor. Was told they would call back in 30 minutes. They did not. I called again on Tuesday and did finally get to talk with a Supervisor named Salem. He admitted he personally had handled my initial call and he had made a mistake and never ordered the service for the range. So service charge for microwave was more than the initial cost to purchase. Because of his mistake we offered to buy the part and get a free service call. Salems supervisor denied that request and he said he would call customer service and see if he could get the cost waved and call right back. He did not. I called again on Thursday Dec14 and requested to speak with Salem. He did call back and said he had been busy and unable to call me back before. He said we had to pay for needed services and we put a hold for both the microwave and range on a credit card over $700. I refused to schedule service before Monday Dec. 16 to be sure they would have the parts. We have to submit receipts for service to home warranty for reimbursement and to date Wednesday Dec 20 we only have one receipt. The tech was super but service department calls were terrible The fact that it took several hours on the phone and more than a week plus sooo many mistakes I will not buy any further LG products

Only good for a year

I bought this a year ago. After the warrantee was up the screen started to flicker and the light bulbs burned out. I was told by the warrantee department that i was out of luck.

Bought this microwave less than 4 yrs ago and it is not heating anymore. Not very impressed with this LG product. It is not overused. Ive never had a microwave in any of my former home give out. Very disappointed

Purchased all new appliances LG two years ago. remodeled kitchen I did not purchase a Extended warranty as I have NEVER wore out a microwave before in 45 years. This one however stopped working after two years. The cost of have LG come in and repair I can buy a new one. I am a single Senior citizen and use this very little. Now I have to buy another one

Difficult to See

Fortunately we bought this unit on sale. The control panel is not backlit making it difficult to see the numbers on the display which was not evident in the store as it was not plugged in. The display has since broken and we are awaiting a new part. This is covered under warranty.

I bought this microwave 2 years ago. About a month ago the digital reading start flickering. I contacted LG about the problem. At first they told me that the microwave was out of warranty and that there was nothing they could do. After a few minutes of conversation the representative agreed to submit a request to have it repaired at no charge to me. A technician came out and replaced the panel and everything is back to working fine.

Failed after 16 Months

Purchased this microwave in July 2022. The unit now fails to heat and it is now beyond Lgs warranty period. Had Lg recommended technician come out to do testing and he/we concluded its better to replace it then fix because of the following: User interface is blinking Recommend replacing: - magnetron - high voltage transformer - capacitor - main control board/user interface Total costs of repair is about $950 parts+labor + tax The cost to fix this unit is nearly 2x the cost I paid to buy it and have someone install it.

Good microwave

I bought this MW just over a year ago and I am very happy with it. I had one glitch with a component but the LG Service team came right out-the week of Thanksgiving and fixed it quickly. Saved Thanksgiving for us. I would certainly recommend this model to anyone.

Stopped working terrible customer service

Product stopped working 2.5 years after we installed it. Still lights up but stopped heating food. Had to chat with customer service online for over an hour then they gave me a phone number to call and hung up the chat. Called waited on hold only to find out that it costs $300 to send someone out to diagnose the problem but dont worry If its the magnetron that failed the part is under warranty. That is not at all helpful when the cost to repair exceeds the purchase price of the brand new unit. It is extremely unfortunate because that means that we will have to junk the whole thing and it will end up in a landfill. It does not make any sense to me why repairing a product would cost more than buying a brand new one. Giving two stars only because we liked the way it worked until it suddenly broke. Now it will be a massive pain to replace and the price of fixing it is not an option.

Disappointed and unreliable

What can I say . The panel had to get replaced within 6 mo of purchase. Magnetron failed within 2 hrs of panel repair. It took 2 wks to get magnetron part replaced. 2 weeks later the cooking sensor was not sensing and cutting off within 1 minute. The microwave just failed while baking potatoes. Customer service did what they could but their chat drops then you have to repeat everything and go with the same set of instructions given before chat drop. Now it messed up dinner. Thanks for the experience. I know now we cant trust LG products.

Quit working after 5 years

Worked great while it lasted. However the under light stopped working after 1 year. And the whole thing stopped working after 5 years. Id expect it to last much longer than that.

This microwave stopped working after 15 months of use It turns on but does not heat which means its most likely a magnetron issue. I contacted customer service and while they can send a new magnetron for free the labor cost is more than the price of a new microwave. Unacceptable after one year of use
