Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Terrible products and terrible customer service

If I could give no stars I would. LG products are TERRIBLE. I had my refrigerator for less than 5 years and the compressor went on it. Tried to call LG for days and days to get a technician out and fix it for me. I had to harass these people and they never reached out to me. I had to go 10 days without a fridge until they FINALLY told me that they wouldnt be able to get out until 10 days later. They dont care about their customers. They didnt even have the decency to offer me a replacementeven though I was still under warranty. They claimed they couldnt get a technician out to my area but I dont believe it. I dont live out in a rural area I live in the city. LG did NOTHING for me. I finally decided to just go and buy another fridge and I threw my old one to the dump where it belongs. Im so disgusted with how they handled my situation and I will NEVER recommend LG to anyone and Ill be telling them to save their money and buy another brand. Absolutely terrible.

After2 years the compressor had to be replaced the next year repair needed because food was freezing inside refridgerator then the conpressor had to be replaced a second time and now the freezer and icemaker stopoed working. I have lost so much money on food that spoiled waiting for repairs. Ill never purchase LG again.

Received product in June 2020 compressor went out September 2023 compressor going out or is out in June 2024. Customer service is zero help. They give you 3 to 5 days for the locator team to find a technician then they schedule an appointment so until then we are without a fridge I will never buy an LG appliance ever ever again this is awful. customer service is a broken record so I asked for a supervisor and she said hell tell you that the exact same thing I did.

I was almost tempted to buy another LG I loved the refrigerator except for the fact that the compressor went out on me after 5 years. Top of the line price bottom of the line longevity. After seeing comments that compressors are often a problem and experiencing it myself I would recommend staying away. I was hoping things have changed but even consumer reports point out this flaw. Compressors are very expensive isnt worth the repair.

Unless you like being without a working refrigerator dont buy an LG refrigerator. Compressor broke after a little over 2 years. Lost a ton of food. 2 weeks later and Im still negotiating to get a refund as we live in an area that does not have a licensed repair person. Apparently LG refrigerators are known to have bad compressors - can you say manufacturing issue?

So we bought this May 2021. It is now May 2022 it kicked the bucket. Stopped cooling in the fridge freezer. By the time I realized the food was all defrosted no good. Over $200 worth. Bought the premium extended warranty but have to wait 7 days for them to come tell me its broken. Then they will probably have to order parts so maybe another week. I have kids this is a nightmare not having a fridge. Should have lasted longer than 2 years. Never again will I buy a lg anything. So disappointed

Scratches scratches scratches Inside of one hour I noticed serious scratches on this refrigerator. LG has no explanation its a horrible quality with the print proof. I use micro fiber as suggested and a delicate detergent the scratches are up and down and I had a new right door ordered. That came scratched already
