Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

At 2 years to the month ice maker fan motor went out. Of course it is no longer under warranty. I spent over $3000 on a refrigerator and 2 years later Im spending hundreds on repair

This is a very nice fridge when it works. My only complaint about the design would be that the black stainless isnt magnetic. However.... Its really problematic about maintaining temperature. We bought it in 2021 after our previous 3 month old LG failed and Best Buy gave us full credit towards a replacement. Within 2 years we had to have the compressor replaced because it wasnt cooling properly drifted up above 50 degrees and up to freezing in the freezer. After replacement of the compressor this fridge cooled again and made ice but the freezer rarely would get below 5 or 8 degrees even if set to -2 or lower. Fast forward to 2025 and it now isnt cooling properly again 15 degrees in the freezer and 45-50+ in the refrigerator set to 34 even after being closed overnight with IcePlus on. All vents and fins vacuumed proper clearances etc. And yes theres a 10 year warranty on the compressor .... but now you have to agree to a $450 all inclusive repair cost to even have them come out to look at it. I asked what the cost would be if it is in fact the compressor and I didnt do the all-inclusive repair fee and was told there was no option other than the all-inclusive. For the first repair it may have been Best Buy covering it under extended warranty. So Im confused what use the 10-year warranty on the compressor is... maybe it kicks in to cover parts if I were to bring in my own appliance repair person? This is the 4th LG fridge weve had problems with. One kept icing up the bottom of the freezer some drain line clogged with ice I think. One that was delivered non-functional. One that failed in 3 months. And now this one.

So disappointed. After just over a year the fridge screen started glitching and we couldnt get water or ice. Once replaced by repair man the entire fridge stopped working. Its been two months and many vistes by the repair man he has replaced multiple parts over and over and it still dosnt work and LG has no answers to help us. I will update this review if they give us a new one.

I bought my LG in 2022. W/I the first year we had to replace the ice maker. Now 2 years in we are having issues with the ice makers as well as the LG screen does not work. Displays 15 E. Have had 1 repair man out and now 2 weeks later the issue has not been taken care off.

I bought this April 18 2023 and by August 2024 just past the warranty the craft ice maker needed to be replaced. Also the control panel needs to be replaced. It took me quite awhile to hook the refrigerator to the app and the people that brought it to my house took the freezer handle off to get it through the front door and the handle never worked properly until then.

I purchased this Fridge at the end of 2017 this Fridge quit cooling food in the Fridge and Freezer. When we called the repair shop because the 5 year warranty is up. The repair shop said LG has a lot of issues and that the cost of labor would be expensive and the repairs may only last another 6 months. Repair shop told us to put the money towards a new fridge. The compressor went on our 2-year-old unit. Even with the extended warranty there has been no luck as the service tech is unable to get a replacement compressor anywhere in the US. What good is the warranty if there are no replacement parts??

But refrigerator a couple years ago. Top icemaker didnt work properly replaced three times. Still didnt work. Bottom icemaker went out and wouldnt work at all. Had it replaced. Metro Appliance replaced fridge. Same deal. Icemaker replaced. Same deal. No more LG for me or anyone else I can warn away from Doing so.

This refrigerator has been trouble from the beginning. Both ice makers have been replaced evaporator and condensers have died also. Worst part has been trying to get a promised food replacement check 2 months and still being put off.

Craft ice maker broke. LG sends technician replaced ice maker. Ice maker breaks again LG sends another technician. Technicians says cant fix the plug from fridge to ice maker is damaged and is not repairable. Called customer service and they explained the part is damaged. Not by anyone but LG technicians and they wont cover to replace fridge. No one can fix the issue and LG not taking responsibility. $3k wasted. Never ever will I buy any LG product.

I bought this fridge about 18 months ago and it worked great up until about a month ago. We came home from our out of town trip and discovered an error message. I called LG sevice center and essentially was told that the error freezer fan was not covered by my warranty expired at 12 months. They offered to send someone out but after reviewing couldnt find anyone in my area to send. I pretty much was told I am SOL and good luck finding someone to fix it. Ive had some luck just unplugging it and plugging it back in occassionally and its running ok. Shame on LG for not standing behind their product. The low rating is more for LGs crap customer service than the actual fridge. I spent almost $4K on this fridge and to have issues at only 18 months of ownership is ridiculous

I bought this refrigerator from Home Depot June 13 2024. It has not worked since entering my home. We waited the 48hours suggested by delivery logistics company and it did not work after eating that time. We have had 3 repair services and the last one the repairman sent by LG could not figure out how to get the parts into the refrigerators sealed compartments.

This freezer stopped producing our 6 per day round ice just after our warranty was up. Now we are getting error codes as well as slow ice production up top too. We are lucky to get 2 round ice cubes a day. Now our freezer is making a whining noise. We also get a FFE code that shows on the screen. So upset that we spent this much money for it to not even last 2 years. We thought buying a LG appliance was a smart move. Smh Poor quality at an expensive price.

We bought this new for our retirement home in Florida.Spent over $4000 but that was ok as it has the features we wanted. Little did I know that the LG repairman would know us by our first names We have had the craft ice maker fixed then replaced a total of three times. A week ago got an alert from the THINq app that the indoor ice maker was not functioning and the refrigerator was not cooling properly. Again our lovely repairman came to visit. The entire compressor needed to be replaced. On a unit that was only three years old?? And dont get me started on calling into the LG repair line. Absolutely freaking ridiculous Speaking with someone over in India with sooo much background noise I could hardly hear. Then after 30 minutes with Ann from India I get transferred to Ryan from India who tells me in order to confirm my repair appointment they will place a $500 hold on my credit cardWTF? Totally absurd and no way to treat a customer. Why is the service repair line outsourced?? No excuses. Most likely will NOT buy LG again

We really love our refrigerator -- The downside is that we had the fan replaced 2x the ice maker 1x the compressor 2 times within the first year - Make sure you take full advantage of the mfgr warranty - we had to call and schedule a repair person to come out and fix it - this took time but the new compressor has its own long warranty I think it is 10 years?? Make sure you dont over stuff the freezer and keep the doors/drawers closed. If it is in a cabinet enclosure - pull out the refrigerator to clean the vents regularly. We put in an open vent on the outside of the cabinet to help with the air flow. We havent had any issues other than the air vent getting clogged with dust and pet hair It is truly an awesome fridge as long as the compressor and fans work or get them replaced ASAP.

Great Features Terrible Reliability/Service Costs

We purchased this model new in 2021 for a new home along whit a whole suite of LG appliances. I would compare the fridge to a 1960s British sportscar....the best driving experience ever but ridiculously expensive to keep on the road and poor service. The fridge has all the options you could want and plenty of space for all our food/drink. We had our first unit for around 2 years when the compressor quit. Had to have service guy out 3 times empty fridge every time before LG would replace fridge even though they were aware of compressor issues with our model. Finally paid for a replacement fridge but prorated the payment which ended up costing us approx $840 for the exact same unit that had just quit. Now we had the ice maker fan bearing fail at 14 months on the new unit and LG is charging us $400 for a 30 minute repair and a $140 replacement part. While we love the fridge when it runs hence the 2 stars I cant recommend it when its cost us approx $1250 in service calls in 4 years.

Not impressed at all. LG should have stayed with making TVs. I have had 2 techs out a total of 6 times and still have an ice maker on my counter because my $3200.00 refrigerator cant seem to make ice even after all that. My 20 year old refrigerator in the garage should have stayed in the kitchen or I should have bought a Whirlpool or Frigidaire.

I bought my LG Fridge a few months ago. I was so excited only to find out the delivery people werent comfortable delivering it up 1 step to get in my house. 1 of the drivers said she wasnt strong enough so it sat in my garage for a couple weeks till they could get 2 other people out. As for the fridge itself my excitement has changed to disappointment. The craft ice maker stopped working wet quickly. I called to get help and warranty work to fix the problem only to have the agent hang up on me because they dont have a service technician in my area. I then started having an error code on the front display EE. F. I was unable to connect it to my phone through the link. So I called back customer service and they told me its a circulation error and they will fix it when they come out to fix the other issue. Well Ive now called several times over the last couple months with no help. They keep telling me they have no service technician in my area they will call me back. So for MONTHS Ive had no craft ice from the freezer or ice or water through the door. I do like the fact that the middle draw can be freezer or fridge. I really dont have much to say right now due to my frustration or paying thousands of dollars and not being able to use every feature.

For anyone who is CONSIDERING purchasing a LG refrigerator please DO NOT buy. I own one it stopped working schedule repair has been a nightmare for me. Here is what happened: the fridge broke called to schedule a repair the earliest available repair date was 7 days later fine I will wait. The technician no show on the day tried to call customer service which took me an hour each time I called but still no one can tell me what to do. Finally 4 days later they scheduled me for another 10 days later. I dont know if this time they will show up. Net net Family has been living without a fridge for 10 days now and will have to wait for another 10 days before the technician shows up. If the technician is still a no show I will likely have to wait for another 10 or 20 days. During this process I had to spend at least an hour with customer service every day and they kept transferring me to another team who is supposed to handle my issue. Rest assured this will be the last time I purchase LG product this experience is beyond frustration.

I love the size of the refrigerator and the middle drawer that keeps our drinks perfectly cold but the ice makers are another story...I have an ice maker on the counter to make ice even though the refrigerator has 2 They were both out at the same time and honestly the one in the door cant make enough ice to keep up and the craft icemaker takes days to make one. Not the best purchase I have ever made very disappointed. I guess I should have gone with what someone told me to only buy an LG TV not appliances.

LG does not fulfill their promises in regards to rebates we bought 4 new appliances and should have gotten a $500 gift card LG has used every excuse possible to not send us the rebate their Customer Service presidential representative Didnt communicate with us in a timely manner and no one from LG Would call us with an Explanation as to why they wouldnt fulfill their requirements on the rebates. LG Should be ashamed of their customer service. I pray that none of our appliances break down because I have very little faith In LG Repairing our appliances. Dont buy from LG.
