we bought the flex washer/dryer set a week ago, or so, and have a pretty large compmaint. you can either use a sensing cycle, or a timed cycle (that doesn't sense humidity) if you want to control the drying temperature. we typically dry most of our clothes on a low heat setting, and the only way to do that, is to use a cycle that does not 'sense dry'. we dried clothes on "normal"(medium heat) and it was hot. its shrunk towels by using the "towel" setting (high heat), so just buyer beware. otherwise we do like the set a lot, and wouldve given it a 5 rating, had it been more flexible (ironic, lol). oh, and the manual suggests the temperature can be adjusted on any cycle..."press temp to change the temperature of the current cycle". misleading.

as it i planned to go with samsung smart home as my mobiles are samsung. i read neg reviews about wi-fi but decided could be user error. after several hrs there is a serious flaw with dryer smart connectivity. it adds to the app but then shows offline despite router showing it still there. also i read the manual before purchase and saw steam required water line. the dryer came with "y" adaptor and extension for connecting to the washer water line, all i had to purchase was dryer line. but waterlines only come in set of 2 (washer) or as part of dryer steam kit that includes line, "y" adaptor, and extension. so samsung put 2/3 of needed items with dryer, leaving me to buy the same items. spending this much for "just a dryer" isn't worth it unless you love a 2-in-1 dryer, which is only plus.

samsung has very nice product feature, various functions and beautiful look from outside. i can give 4 out of 5. the cons are pricy and reliability. i bought both the washer and the dryer same time around jan 2019 and installed 3 months later. the product was broken 8 months later as the motor did not spin, luckily just one day before 1-year warranty. i don't feel comfortable to purchase the product in the future with this kind of experience. we expect the washer and dryer to last at least 2-3 years before showing a problem, not this early.

once a cycle has run, it frequently doesn't let me turn off eco mode and only runs for 5 more minutes. even if i "turn off" eco mode, it doesn't seem to matter. this is frustrating.

My flex drier is 13 months old, the drum failed at the joint almost certainly as a result of a manufacturing defect, no recourse under warranty as it has just expired and Samsung made it very clear they wouldn't do anything unless we paid for it, worst thing is our drier only takes light loads as we are a family of 2.Drum and rollers needed replacing resulting in a repair bill of more than $600, hard to swallow given the high initial purchase price and the light use. I should have followed my instincts and as a European bought a European brand like Bosch. Won't be buying anything from the Samsung brand anytime soon.

I bought this washer and dryer 2 months ago and have been mostly happy. The delivery driver was professional helping with the installation of both units. My units are slate grey which is very sleek and modern. The upper washer works well for small items or just washing one or 2 items. A few days ago was running the top washer and it started giving me an error code and water was on the floor, unfortunately with the error code it flashed on both upper and lower, so was unable to use either unit. Repair man says that there is a valve on right side of washer wear the fabric softener dispenser is thats leaking, hopefully after replacement parts will have no further issues. I love the availability of doing 2 loads of laundry at same time, laundry time just decreased. I love the wifi connection I can be away from home and know if loads are being washed or finished. I also use the delay end function frequently, great for having a load finished right when I wake up in morning or great for going to work and having load finished right as I am getting home. Units are large definitely need a decent size space to house units. With the bottom unit it is very close to the floor, so you really have to bend down to load and unload units. On to the dryer the upper dryer is almost like just air blowing on drying rack great feature for air dry items sometimes depending on the item you have to be cautious that your items dry, often times need to be dried for second time. The lower dryer has so many settings that I can specialize my load I want dried. I love the lent filter design, I feel like if captures more lent than my previous dryer. Again love the wifi feature that the washer has, my phone informs me whats going on with units. Also bottom unit is close to floor and really have to bend down to load and unload unit. Overall love both washer and dryer and would highly recommend.

Very Impressive Dryer

I replaced a dryer that an issue with the lint catcher. The lint catcher design wasn't tested enough to me as it wasn't too smooth to rub your hand across. While drying some of my wife's clothes, they got caught in the lint catcher and proceeded to twist around the lint catcher and ruined lots of clothes and messed up the lint catcher and frame in the dryer. I was looking at many dryers and found the design of the lint catcher was much better and no issues at this time! I really wanted the FlexDry Dryer to see if it I could keep from taking my Jerseys to the dry cleaners. I was washed them with the top of the FlexWash Washer and then proceeded to dry the stitched jerseys in the top dryer on the FlexDry Dryer and not a problem. I have tested many delicate garments and jerseys as it is football season. This is great for me! The dryer is quite large on the interior as I have tested may sized loads from Denim, Towels and Bedding to ensure the items were dry and everything was completely dry! King size comforter and sheets were not a problem to dry thoroughly. Like to steam dry? Well this dryer doesn't need a reservoir to keep filling as the dryer has a water line connected for on demand steam drying! It's much easier now to get that steam dry going! There are many cycles and options to accommodate all types of loads from small, medium, large or oversize. Using Samsungs FlexDry and FlexWash units kind of makes washing and drying easier. I am reviewing as part of the Insiders Program.

I didn't think I would ever get excited about a dryer but the FlexDry is not your typical clothes dryer. First of all the capacity is huge. By using the FlexWash and FlexDry I've probably cut my laundry time in half! I can also easily dry a comforter or other bulky items without it taking all day. The thing about the FlexDry that is so different from other products on the market is the additional Delicate Dryer. It allows me to quickly dry items that I would normally need to lay flat to dry while also using the bottom dryer for my regular laundry. I've used it for sweaters, pillows and my son's stuffed animals. The steam option is great for refreshing items and removing wrinkles. If that all wasn't enough this is a smart device that connects to your phone so you know when the drying cycle is complete. I now look forward to laundry day because it is quick and easy! I highly recommend the FlexDry to anyone who is in the market for a new dryer. I reviewed this appliance as part of the Insiders program and all opinions are my own.

The Samsung smart flex is beyond amazing. Not only does it look great but it is amazing. The system allows for a dual function dryer. One can wash a large of towels at the same time wash small delicate sweaters. This function excites me the most as Iwould relying on a drying rack to dry my seaters. Now I can hit one button and begin thee drying cycle. Beyond amazing. The drum for drying clothes is beyond large and accomandate large beach towels at one time. The basket for cleaning the lint is a double basket allowing one to remove with ease to dump. An amazing function on this machine is the wrinkle realase. It's not going to press the shirts like the launy cleaners however it will leave the cloths nice and smooth. With this function I will wash and dry with the wrinkle relase and hang up right away. Cuts that dry cleaning bill I'm half. The wi-if functionality in the system is great because if I'm in the back bedroom playing with my daughter I don't need to guess if the clothes are ready and leave our time together. Now I get updates through my phone allowing me to have more control of my time. This also helps when I am at work and my daughter is still home. Once I receive the text I can call her from work and tell her to empty the dryer. Yeah I would also like to point out the slick color and LCD screen. The color gives a modern look to the house and pops with the LCD when selecting which option that is best for your clothes. The soft chim at the end the dryer cycle is a welcome surprise compared to the prior dreaded buzzer.

Great dryer, but needs more flexibility

The dryer was delivered and set up in my laundry room. I wanted it closer to the wall, so I researched moving the vent to the side, but that required ordering a side vent kit from Samsung, and having a professional install it, so I decided to just go to the local home improvement store and buy a flat vent kit and install that. It didn't get the dryer as close to the wall as I'd like, but it's better than the big round vent that was installed originally. Next, I set up the Samsung Smart Home feature. I expected this to be a bit easier than it was because I have the latest Samsung smart phone and use SmartThings in my home. It took a couple tries to get connected to my home wifi, but now that it's set up, it seems stable. I have to do some more research on this, as I see that the new Samsung 2018 TVs advertise that they'll notify you on the TV when your cycle is complete. I imagine this would be available on the phone as well, but I haven't found it yet. Perhaps I need to set it up in SmartThings for that. I've turned notifications on in the Smart Home app on my phone, but can only see the cycle status if I open the app. To control the dryer remotely, you need to press the smart control button on the machine before starting the cycle. Now…to the drying. It dries. I have dried a lot of new California King sheets and bedspreads as I just moved into a new house. I bought this extra large-capacity set because of that. They mostly come out pretty wrinkled, but they're cotton, so I suppose that's to be expected. I tried the wrinkle away cycle, but that didn't help. The instruction manual says that you should only load 2-3 items for that cycle, so perhaps sheets are too much. The biggest let-down for me is that the cycles determine the drying temperature, and you only have limited options to change them. For example, the 'Bedding' cycle only allows for high heat. But, my sheets and bedspreads say to dry on low heat. Even changing to the 'Normal' cycle, I am only allowed medium heat. The only cycle that allows low heat is 'Time Dry,' which doesn't sense when the load is dry. Other than those issues, the dryer does its job. I haven't tried the small upper dryer yet other than to make sure it works. I don't typically have items that need to be dried that way, but who knows what needs may arise later. This product was reviewed as part of the Samsung Insiders program.

I'm loving this new dryer. It has so many cool features. I also love being able to dry two different items at the same time (top and bottom). The smart features work well and integrate into my existing smartthings home, allowing me to check the status from anywhere, while it is running. It looks really nice (although not important to me). It is a little tall, so I would recommend against getting a pedestal, unless you are already a tall person. Also, it is a little pricey, but it has lots of features and works great.

I received the Samsung FlexDry and am blown away! I am more than satisfied with its drying capabilities. Everything has a button, there is no doing this wrong. From towels to bedding, permanent press to delicate, normal to anything else you can think of it has it all. No more waiting for clothes to dry, only to open the drum and still find damp clothes. But with that comes no over drying and/or shrinking with sensors in the drum the FlexDry is not only smart but energy efficient too. I love having it connected to the app so I know exactly when they are done or how much time is left, it makes my laundry time more efficient so I can put in the next load. I can also silence the dryer at night so as not to wake anyone and know that I will be alerted at the finish of its cycle. Set up was easy and the instructions took me step by step through the process. My favorite feature has to be the smaller lay flat dryer on top. I have yet to lose a sock! I lay my sweaters, delicates, and more. I love even being able to put small stuffed toys in there so I don't hear the clanking of plastic eyeballs over and over again. I put my shoes in there after a rainy day so they'll be dry for the next day. The touch screen capabilities are great and the black stainless steel has a very fancy appearance. I can fit king size bedding in the extra large stainless steel drum with ease and over 15 adult size towels dryed in an hour! This is the dream dryer I have been wanting. #SamsungInsider #SamsungFlexDry

10 months in, no major issues - not enough metal

The dryer and washer both have too much plastic which immediately scratches making these expensive appliances look like cheap knock-offs. We've only had one issue and that was the belt came off, but was repaired after waiting a week under warranty. The error code doesn't state that's the issue. My main complaint is simply the plastic is cheap, scratches and should have been painted metal of some sort. It gives it a cheap look and it's off-putting. There is no quick dry button. Too many combinations. Where is the quick dry button similar to permanent press, and let the machine detect the dampness? I think the price was too much for what he does and the plastic issue alone should make this a $800 item.

Great unit

Replacing my decade-old dryer with the Samsung FlexDry has really made a huge difference in the length of time I spend doing the family laundry. With the ability to use water and therefore Steam in the delicate dryer on top of the normal tumble dryer is really amazing. You can dry everything from a shirt or blouse 2 a small accessory. It is awesome for wrinkle prevention. The tumble dry has multiple settings and the manual mentioned drying like objects together to optimize functionality. The tumble dry offers normal, heavy duty, towels, bedding, and then something completely different called the refresh dry! Misuses a small amount of steam to take any wrinkles out of the dryer. Having a small child both this option and the built-in child lock are super important. The only downfall to this super efficient and really nice looking machine is that it is not incredibly customizable. It appears you cannot override specific settings to change temperatures. I am surprised because my old cheap dryer allowed me to do so and maybe it is something I will have to get used to. A normal load on tumble dry will dry an entire huge load of my family's clothing in less than an hour and a half! This is a huge difference and probably half the time it would have taken me with my less efficient dryer. In the long run, I definitely think this dryer is worth the money. The Samsung name and reputable reputation really assured me I am running the most efficient machine I can.

It is very easy to use, and larger than our last washer. It is definitely heavier than our last washer, they had to struggle to get it to our second floor. We love it.

FlexDry = WOW!

Oh my, how we love the FlexDry. We do a LOT of laundry at our house and this wonderful machine has certainly made it easier. The large drum holds a LOT of clothes and dries them quickly and efficiently. The small top compartment is great for delicates - it doesn't tumble, so helps protect those items from damage or shrinkage. We LOVE the steam options - so convenient to have this option for dewrinkling (I am not a fan of ironing!). I love the sensors that tell you when they think your load is dry - super helpful when your kids are learning to do their own laundry and still learning how to set the controls . Our Flexwash and Flexdry system make a great team, and look great in our laundry room!

The 7.5 cu ft. Samsung FlexDry dv9900 dryer is a powerhouse! I never knew that a dryer could have so many features, but now I am glad that this dryer does. There's not a load of laundry that this dryer can't handle. This dryer does an amazing job of ensuring your laundry comes out dry and fluffy. The delicate dryer has come in handy for undergarments and my sons stuffed animals. I was skeptical at first that the small space would be powerful enough to actually dry items. Let me tell you, I was wrong. The top dryer is great to ensure your delicate items are dried, but also ensures that they're not damaged from high heat. For items like stuffed animals we don't have to worry that they will come out of the dryer deformed or disfigured. The main dryer has a setting for every type of load of laundry that you could imagine. It's easy to set it and forget it. You don't have to worry about coming back to a load of laundry that is still damp and needs to be dried again. This moisture sensors do an amazing job of ensuring every item in a load comes out dry, but doesn't overdry your load. I really appreciate the refresh and wrinkle away settings do an amazing job of getting any wrinkles out of your clothes to help eliminate the time spent on ironing. This dryer does a great job and I have been very impressed!

The samsung flex dry is an amazing dryer. I never had an electric dryer before this unit, and i must say i am very impressed. This unit had two drying units in one. The main tumbler, which i must say is very spacious and does a great job drying your clothes in one run and the top smaller drying rack for your delicates, or items you dont want tumbling around. People who have kids, know how difficult and easy task as doing laundry can become when you have one child clinging on your leg and the other trying to pull your arm out of its socket and you get all the clothes mixed up and just throw them in the dryer. Well this unit has made that a whole lot easier. This machine will distract your kids with all the fancy chimes it plays when you power it on, and place your delicates on the top drying rack so not to ruin them, and the rest of the clothes in the main tumbler unit. The dryer is also equipped with the smart control option, so that you can montior when your dryer is done or how much time is remaning on the machine. This option is specially helpful when your unit is located in the basement of your house, like mine, and that you dont have to constantly run up and downstairs to see is the unit is done. overall we are very happy and love our samsung flexdry.

Best Dryer I've Ever Owned!

I have had my Washer & Dryer set for about 2 weeks now, these things have been nothing short of Awesome! This dryer is top notch with every setting you can possible think of needing to dry your clothes. Because this has 2 different dryers build into this unit, it gives any household the ability to dry any size load fast. If you have kids you will understand that when you want to get laundry done it slips the mind quick with everything that happens throughout the day! The ability to connect these units to your smartphone helped us be reminded to move the bedding/clothes into the dryer. At first, I didn't think that we would need them, but it became something that we loved very quickly after setting them up especially because we know the bedding is dry when it comes to bedtime now! Before we would be getting the kids ready for bed and whoops, we forgot to dry their bedding. The large dryer on the bottom is awesome for big loads of clothes, large bedding, medium loads of laundry and everything in between. The top dryer has already been a blessing for moments where I needed to dry a shirt or pants for work quickly in morning without unloading everything that we have in the larger dryer. All the settings that this dryer offers allows us the flexibility we need as a family to dry smaller loads much quicker than previous dryers we've owned. Pros: • Large bottom tumbler is useful for any size load of laundry • Small top dryer is amazing for quick drying of single items or baby items (Baby Blankets, Small Infant stuff animals, etc..) • Dryer has a ton of settings to allow faster drying times for smaller loads • Dryer has a ton of settings for any type of laundry load you can think of • Dryers physical size is not much larger than a standard dryer • The product looks good and nice to have something that won't get a bunch of fingerprints all over it • Ability to control your both dryers with your smartphone Cons: • Price point if very high • Small top dyer won't be used all the time • Dryers rubber feet to stick to tile very well, I had to invest in $7 rubber pads to avoid the dryer sliding around or making a bunch of noise while running Overall, I think that even with the higher price tag, I would recommend this dryer to anyone who is looking for an awesome product that will get anything done in a rapid time frame or just to get a lot more laundry done at once. It's worth spending the extra money to save time in the long run.

Beware on replacement parts

If buying beware that all parts aren't readily available. We purchased a set a little over a year ago. Three weeks ago, the drum in the dryer separated along the weld that holds it together. Our repair guys have been waiting over a week for the factory to provide a new drum. Both machines work fine, but I would question the quality of materials used, since I have never seen a drum separate at the weld.

Hi, I was wandering if you can put a drying rack on the lower tombler. I was surprised to know it docent bring one from the start. Since the manual indicates you can't put shoes on the top dryer. And with my old lg dryer I used it a lot with the sanitizer cycle. Other than that the machine has been working grate.

Let me start with what I love about it, everything! I have no complaints on its looks, performance, and reliability (owned 6 months). The convenience of having a super efficient and fast dryer is amazing. I don't know how I lived without this product. The top dryer is so awesome for delicates, dog collars, fabric belts, ties, etc. The bottom can tackle anything you throw at it. I have not had one damaged item and they come out quick and dry by using the correct settings. Settings and senors are there for a reason on this dryer... and they work. I have been a big fan of very high end appliances for a long time. Samsung is really giving these companies a run for their money. This was no cheap dryer but compared to the competition it makes a category to itself. My only suggestion to samsung is to make this appliance and many others more smart capable. Its smart capabilities are like nothing on the market but the way the company is embracing the smart home world you think it would work better with the samsung hub, Alexia etc. And why so many apps?! But this is me just being of judgmental having a smart home and many of their products. If you have the money you wont be disappointed. I have not had to use elite customer service yet but if you unfortunately do, I hear its class leading.

No drying rack for such an expensive dryer.

I bought this dryer and was quite pleased with its features, only to realize that it doesnt come with a drying rack. I have contacted the store where I bought this and Samsung a couple of times and was told that this dryer doesnt come with it, even if in their manual, it has the option of using a drying rack. I asked them how to dry a sneaker, and was told to dry it with a couple of towels which are things that I usually dont dry together. I just think that if you pay a huge amount for a dryer, it should come with basic things like a drying rack.
